2022 - 2023 Season in Review
Our fifteenth season proved to be our most exhilarating journey yet! The excitement began with a remarkable turnout for our summer "bootcamp" and a field trip to witness "Radium Girls" at Rhode Island College in September. This spirit of engagement carried through the entire year, with an impressive 81 students participating in at least one production.
In celebration of our 15th anniversary, we hosted a memorable fall Cabaret featuring performances by both students and alumni, showcasing numbers from our past mainstage shows. What started as plans to produce "Mamma Mia" took an unexpected turn when we became the Rhode Island winner of "50 States of Frozen: Love Is An Open Door." This granted us the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform the full production of DISNEY'S FROZEN, a show not widely available until 2024. The outcome was nothing short of spectacular, with sold-out performances and a staggering 28 nominations for our cast and production team. Disney's Frozen was an Outstanding Musical Winner as well as five students winning individual recognitions, four more being selected for the Rising Stars number, and one student receiving a cash scholarship. Being part of the inaugural Ocean State Star Awards, associated with the National High School Musical Theater Awards (the Jimmy's), was a true honor!
We concluded the school year on a high note with our Senior Showcase and Thespian Society induction ceremony, a special moment that included the induction of our first honorary member, our esteemed technical director, Ken Townsend.
